El sueño es el más antiguo de los géneros literarios. Constituye el relato primordial y el acervo de imágenes míticas de cada cultura, pero también los cuadernos de sueños tienen una larga tradición histórica. Sinesio de Cirene escribe en el 405 de nuestra era que toda persona que quiera saber sobre el otro plano de su vida ha de tener su diario de noche. Infinidad de figuras relevantes han dejado testimonio de su vida onírica, aunque para la mayoría de los escritores el onirismo haya sido solo un pretexto para tejer juegos literarios. El valor de este libro radica precisamente en todo lo contrario. Su autora no se sirve de ninguna visión nocturna para elaborar una forma artística. Su poética consiste en ofrecer un testimonio veraz de cómo discurre la vida en sueños, pues todo lo recordado pasó al papel, nada más despertar, sin variaciones ni añadidos; y así, de los cerca de mil sueños que Inka Martí fue registrando entre diciembre de 2000 y febrero de 2011, este breviario recoge sesenta y cinco escenas significativas de su universo onírico.
Hay sueños pequeños y sueños grandes, dice la psicología analítica. Los primeros son brotes fragmentarios y tumultuosos de la fantasía nocturna subjetiva. Los segundos provienen de las capas más profundas del psiquismo y giran en torno a imágenes simbólicas transpersonales que podemos reconocer en la historia del espíritu humano. A esta segunda clase pertenecen la mayoría de las visiones de este libro. Por eso su poética ostenta una fuerza y una belleza especiales: la belleza natural que brilla en los mundos opacos. Esa narración desnuda y viva que viene de la otra parte.
«Aparece un ser volador con dos alas muy pequeñas, transparentes. Se abalanza sobre mí, y a pesar de su reducido tamaño, me tumba en el suelo; se coloca encima, y me sujeta los brazos con las palmas de las manos mirando al cielo. Con sus uñas rasga la piel del interior de mis antebrazos y abre cuatro regueros de sangre. Después coloca su cara encima de la mía, muy cerca, y echa un chorro de saliva cristalina en mi boca.»
Inka Martí es periodista, trabajó durante varios años presentando programas culturales e informativos de TVE. Ha publicado dos libros para niños, Otto (Barcanova, 1999) y El cavaller de pedra (Museu d’Art, 2006). Las fotografías de cubierta y el Autorretrato noctívago son de Inka Martí.
